Sarah Jim is an emerging artist from W̱SÁNEĆ. Her ancestry is mixed but her roots are in Tseycum First Nation on the Saanich Peninsula of Vancouver Island. She has developed her skills and interests further by attaining a Bachelors Degree of Fine Arts at the University of Victoria. Due to her close relationship to the land, she has been making art that consists of local flora and fauna, Coast Salish elements, and depictions of personal interpretations of the natural realm. Sarah’s genuine interest and love for the environment has taken her down a path that allows her to work with the land doing environmental restoration and learn about the native plants of the area. She also loves to go backcountry hiking and camping. These experiences are what inspires her creativity, artwork, and life.
